Bloggy Bloggy is now a year old, and is growing stronger (atleast thats what i make out of the bloggy website stats ) . Still not sure what to use this bloggybloggy.com domain for, but myblog seems to be working out fine. Maybe will soon start a forum for bloggers !
But anyways, what has changed over 365 days ? Well here is a brief :.
1. Almost done with my Masters, waiting for paper work, and convocation is on 25 october, but i might have been bit too late to actually get entry to the same. O well … next year i can show up if i want to get some fancy pictures taken :).
2. Few new websites developed over the year. Few websites kinda abandoned also, and did the maths now i spend like $35 a month on domains only as i have close to about 40 ish domains , that cost like $10 a year.
3. Worked as a webmaster at the university taking care of the college website.
4. Moved to new apartment, as they kicked us out of the other one as it was marked to be converted to Condo, freaking businessmen having no moral values and do not care about the inconveniences they cause.
5. Now have 3 servers of mine instead of just 1. And one of them is used to provide specialized hosting aka proxy hosting. Only started like 6- 7 months back with that.
6. Learnt bits of PHP and am still learning so hopefully by 2nd anniversary, i shall few of my own scripts out :).
7. Started drinking Tim Hortons Half and half coffee ( half chocolate half regular ) on the job. Will stop doing that as it costs too much money and not sure if it destroys your health or not :).
8. Still single :(.
9. Got hooked on to playing this game called Super Smash online, using project64 emulators. Aaah i should have never played that game that day !!
10. Thinking of upgrading my computer soon with quad core, or maybe buying a new car or maybe a condo !!
11. Just realized yesterday that my student card expired, as i could not enter the PAC (physical activity complex) !!
Lets see what happens in the near future, but for sure this blog is staying for long, as its nice to once in a while talk about life and things on the web :). O sorry no cake or party on the eve, but maybe soon a new look for the blog. As am planning to learn illustrator, and build some cool graphics and images !!
Also so far here are the stats for bloggy bloggy as you can see on left << there…

Ok so watched the first 2 episodes of Heroes season 3. And omg heroes has really done it this time. What exactly do i mean by done it this time ?
Well they have brought in new faces with more special powers, and instead of just 1 bad guy names syler, they got 4 or 5 new bad guys. Now, it was hard enough to follow the season with just 1 bad guy around whom the entire show revolved. But now with these 4 new faces, i am not too sure where exactly or what exactly heroes is trying to achieve. I feel that this new season of herores might have gone overboard with the concept and their success might have gone to their heads.
Heroes is become all the more complex and complicated and i feel it has become way more cheesier than before. I wish they had kept it simple, within the first 2 episode they managed to introduce lets see around 10 faces/ people with different powers, in which is included now Prof. Suresh !!!!! And season 3 seems to be revolved around this “missing paper with some code” on it which happens to cause the end of the world.
I wished they had kept this series simpler and instead of bringing in so much confusion kept it rather simple and to the point which i feel is about ” finding and showing new faces with abilities and who do not know why they are like that ” instead of bringing in new faces that are dangerous for the entire world !! First it was “Save the cheerleader save the world” and i think this season is about ” Save the code on paper save the world ” !! And not to mention 2 Peter’s one from present and one from 4 years into future. And not to mention the confusion where in end of episode 2, we find out that syler might actually be brother of peter and nathan !!
O well will see what happens in next episodes of heroes, or i might just not watch it , till the season DVD it out few moths from now, so i am not in confused state for months !!

Installing SSL certificate on your domain is simple process, but like everything first time is always the toughest. So to make it easy here are simple steps to get your SSL certificate installed on your domain xyz.com say for example.
First you need to assign an IP to your xyz.com domain via your control panel ( i am assuming its Cpanel and tutorial is for Cpanel users, other panels might have different steps). So lets assign 12.12.12.12 ip to your xyz.com . Please note SSL does not work if there is no dedicated ip allocated to the domain. So make sure you got an ip assigned to your domain and is not shared with any other domain. If you want www.xyz.com assign ip to that domain, as ssl treats www.xyz.com differently than xyz.com, so if you install certificate for domain xyz.com it wont work for https://www.xyz.com so you will need to decide beforehand, and do .htaccess redirect accordingly if you wish. For our example we going to install SSL on xyz.com domain/hostname . Please note 12.12.12.12 is just some arbitrary ip, use your ip you have at hand :).
Now after above step is done. Lets get SSL installed. Steps are simple for SSL installation.
Step 1. Go to Cpanel>SSL/TLS Manager , you will see these options there :
Private Keys (KEY)
Generate, view, upload, or delete your private keys.
Certificate Signing Requests (CSR)
Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests.
Certificates (CRT)
Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates.
Activate SSL on Your Web Site (HTTPS)
Setup a SSL certificate to work with your site.
Step 2. Click on Generate, view, upload, or delete your private keys. On the page you see next look at bottom of page it will have something like Generate a new Key with Host xyz.com or Dropdown, right below it. You can enter your domain xyz.com here or use dropdown, and click Generate. It will give you a text with —–BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY—– at top and —–END RSA PRIVATE KEY—– at bottom , copy completly including —–BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY—– and —–END RSA PRIVATE KEY—– to some text file. Not required though as you can look at it later by hitting “Show Details” option if you go to Private Keys area again, it will show it beside your domain name.

Hiyall,
Its tad annoying seeing that after you purchase the Suite, and you are so used to working on Windows 2003 instead of Windows Xp, that the installer on the DVD does not let you install Photoshop CS3 and Illustrator CS3 on Windows 2003. Googled up the issue, and here is only solution that worked really well for me.
Steps to install Photoshop & Illustrator on Windows 2003 are :
1. Install using DVD other components, like Dreamweaver etc.
2. Now go to Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\498b43b77cac072081a5692bfc52804 (please note the big number there will be different than what you see, depending on computer to computer i suppose.
3. Now open up the payloads folder you see in above folder. Edit AdobePhotoshop10en_US.proxy.xml found in folder : AdobePhotoshop10en_US , and go to very bottom of file (use wordpad or notepad) and Change: “Server2003″:{”Exclude“:true},” to “Server2003″:{”Require“:true},” . So bascially you are just changing Exclude to Require , which does the trick, save and close file.
4. Now open up AdobeIllustrator13en_US.proxy.xml in AdobeIllustrator13en_US folder (which is inside the same payloads folder), and again do the same as did in step 3 above aka , change exclude to require.
5. Now use the setup.exe file to execute the installer, and now you can see a tick box not-greyed out no more beside the components you wish to install, like Illustrator and Photoshop or anything else that was greyed and used the steps 2-4 accordingly.
Hopefully that helps all you windows 2003 lovers and users, and adobe users. Not sure why Adobe has that block on use of their purchased product on Windows 2003. Well the trick above worked nice and both Photoshop Cs3 and Illustrator Cs3 are now installed on my Windows 2003 R2 32 bit server edition.
Enjoy !!

Hiyall,
Well lots of stuff has been happening over the week or 2 , for example the major screw up of not knowing the last date to submit for convocating in October ( aka graduating) , but did submit my application after like 3 days going overboard, will contact the student central here and check on the status.
Anyways after like delaying for so long, finally took the last week of August off to working on my masters project, took me a while to get my head around sitting in front of computer typing stuff and understanding the stuff i was typing about. Well on Tuesday September 2nd, 2008 i finally submitted my masters project to the professor. Now, I am all tensed out that i might have to register for next 8 more months cause of the delay and missing the date (that can be attributed to the secretary of the department not sending and email to Graduate Student list but instead to only select students who she thought were doing masters). Talk about bad luck or karma huh ? And who says there is no destiny in this world , everything in this world happens for a reason and is destined to happen.
Anyways i am positive at this stage that I will actually get the degree by october if not well good bye to $1.5 grands. If only i were rich i would not have minded, but am not !! Plus just checked my unofficial transcript and the cumilitative credits come out to be 27 with project, as its not recognizing one 400 level course i took, i wonder why. Will be talking long to secretary and check out whats up with that. I really do not want to end up taking another course just for sake of it. That will be like totally not so fair. Anyways waiting on grades from professor on the project i submitted, and if any changes are required. Anyways more information to continue maybe later, as i think i might be falling sick, imaging working for money while you are sick , god life is so not fair at times. But than again tough luck !
