Sumitted to http://www.dmoz.org/Society/People/Personal_Homepages/Weblogs/B/ and to http://www.dmoz.org/Society/People/Personal_Homepages/B/ as suggested by mr. freeystyler from Dmoz Resources.

Lets see how it pans out, and if dmoz has some blacklist going where they blacklist all sites owned by bunny .

Their captcha thing works though, read at places that it does not work, not anymore, so thats a good thing !.

So does bunny thinks dmoz will approve the site, well to be frank time will tell not sure if they are still hung up over there at dmoz about me running a dmoz forums or not. Or maybe its just summer time now and everyone busy trying to make their wives(that like more than 1) happy !!

Anyways feel like writing about the new wordpress it looks so sleek. So check out the other post !!

Thats right 5 Grand or more pending links waiting to be approved at 2 of my directories. I been slacking off in approving and now this happens, if I start today and do 30 links a day, that will take like 167 Days !! ZOMG , and by than i am sure there will still more links added , good thing is i get notifcations of payments for featured links, so those paid users do not have to worry about the wait.

Those directories i am talking about are :

H-log

and

Sbclansite

ZOMG !! 5 K pending links to look at, I shall try to do maybe 200 links in a day, or would probably need to hire 2 or 3 editors to get the pending list down to 0 .

Don’t let that happen to you, it’s going to be painful !!

Reasons Why DMOZWill Eventually Die One Day!

In desperation, it seems DMOZ launched an Official DMOZ Blog today. Here is a brief quote from it:

“We thought now was the right time to open the door and start a conversation with the Web community about what’s happening with the largest human-edited directory.

We intend to use this blog to:

- Provide authentic messages about DMOZ and the efforts of our volunteer community.
- Highlight enhancements, both current and future.
- Allow editors to showcase their categories and describe, in their own words, why DMOZ is so important.
- Recruit new editors. If you have access to the Web and are passionate about a category, find out how to apply.

Additionally we want to hear from you.

What do you think about DMOZ? Why do you use the directory or data? Is there something you would like to see fixed? When you’ve been around as long as we have, some people are bound to have great things to say, while others might have a few choice words based on their personal experience. Either way, we want to hear it “Let’s now analyze the above quote in stages!!“We thought now was the right time to open the door and start a conversation with the Web community”

O O Big mistake,it will actually open doors for those editors that want to do some sucking up and get in the good books of a select few or for webmasters to try to find out which editor will accept their bribe to get their site listed in Dmoz. Instead of helping dmoz, it will actually make it worse by trying to show webmasters something that in reality does not exist.

Lets now go to the bottom and analyze this “When you’ve been around as long as we have, some people are bound to have great things to say, while others might have a few choice words based on their personal experience. Either way, we want to hear it ”

Really!!!! does staff from AOL want to really hear about the truth and improve dmoz ?

Recently I posted this reply on their blog: “There u go ^^ just above this comment is prime example of suck ups taking place to remain an editor or one day get promoted. Whohooo, when will AOL take action and prevent all such acts of sucking? Do users get pride in sucking up? So Bob, I will be waiting for your reply eagerly, and if you need proof of what’s actually happening and you actually do care about dmoz do contact me via email.lol@crowbar, nice suck up dude. 10 Thumbs up to u for being perfect at sucking !!”It was addressing Crowbars comment “As an editor of six years, I have complete and total trust and respect for our meta community, especially motsa.

Even though I’ve been denied editing permissions for categories that I’ve requested, and I’ve had to be corrected on occasion, every meta editor that I’ve ever dealt with has been very patient and respectful to me.

I look at them more as big brothers and sisters that I can turn to for help and advice when I need it, and not as overlords (which they are often portrayed as being).

There are no “bosses” in the ODP, just a worldwide family of editors working together for the benefit of the Internet as a whole.”

Now I am a webmaster and former editor (removed for running dmoz-resources.com because resource zone is owned and run by metas and my site was treated as a threat for their forums), and after posting above comment, it was removed by possibly some DMOZ editor (since when did AOL get enough manpower to moderate blog so quickly (took less than 2 minutes). So much for the “WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU” part, talk about bullshit huh!!

My analysis of “What do you think about DMOZ? Why do you use the directory or data? Is there something you would like to see fixed?”

Duhh, I want it fixed! Remove those evil, power hungry and corrupt metas/editors that have nothing better to do than keep kicking out possible sources of content for DMOZ. *Cough *cough here is my category I worked in: http://www.dmoz.org/Reference/Education/Colleges_and_Universities/Asia/India/Haryana/ , added 10-15 sites in 1 day. Oh, and I changed that Gator image at the bottom, looks great doesn’t it? Then I was, removed on the 3rd day because they noticed or found out that I run dmoz-resources.com. So much for trying to help out DMOZ, when its editors act like bitches. So how do I feel about DMOZ ? Hmm… DMOZ is good but the community running DMOZ needs a fresh start, with fresh recruitments selected by DMOZ Staff themselves. Until AOL takes this seriously more posts and comments in blogs and forums will keep popping up saying that DMOZ sucks.

Well now let’s see why the new blog will not save DMOZ from its death!! First of all nothing lasts forever; I will die, Bob will die, and even Bill Gates will too, shocking isn’t it?

Secondly, DMOZ with its awful power hungry metas will act as a catalyst!! Why? Lets see now, recently one of the best DMOZ Editor was removed by so called Evil Metas (I call them the EM’s), for the possible reason that the editor recently suffered from “Cancer” luckily she is still alive but barely made it through. She was sick for quite sometime and did not notice herself she had cancer, from what I know she had low blood count and had issues remembering and thinking straight. I think that’s what low blood count and hemoglobin levels do to human body. And guess what happens when she comes back home after spending 6 days in hospital and undergoing a painful surgery. She opens her DMOZ editor account to get back to work and add more interesting sites and is greeted with “You are removed from DMOZ message for so called favoritism as the reason”. Sheesh. An editor with over a hundred thousand edits and new site additions!! That’s the worst thing DMOZ can do, and if DMOZ thinks anyone will respect or trust them with their precious time after reading what DMOZ did to their best editor, than they are mistaken. Such events fuel the Burning Train heading towards the DMOZ Gator, and the day it hits DMOZ, there will be no one around to save them.
3rd reason. http://digg.com/tech_news/Can_dmoz_get_any_more_corrupt
4th : Ninjas become DMOZ Editors : http://digg.com/tech_news/Ninjas_Become_Dmoz_Editors !!!
5th : Open directory project or ODP a Scam : http://digg.com/tech_news/DMOZ_open_directory_project_a_big_scam

6th – 10th : Just Google DMOZ and corruption, they go hand in hand, you will find out why DMOZ will eventually die.

And if AOL thinks they can run a blog that will help DMOZ, they are mistaken because when I tried posting something about what’s happening with the DMOZ community, the comment was removed. Well let’s see how the blog goes, if editors get rights to edit comments on the blog, than it will be useless to everyone. Will the new blog save dmoz ? I doubt that will happen, cause eventually AOL will give Metas rights to edit posts and comments, and we would be back to square one.
