This is a simple howto connect to your windows machine using windows built in feature of remote desktop or RDP as most call it.
How to RDP or Remote Connect to Windows Based Machine using MSTSC command.
Follow the steps shown below and you should be set.
Enable RDP first on your Windows machine which you want to connect to from remote location:
Now add remove users clicking the Select Remtoe Users Button !
And your machine is set, remember to open port 3389 UDP on your firewall !!
Now from your remote machine you can connect via mstsc command using Start>Run>mstsc

You are not paranoid, as long as they do not know your ip, and your login information i do not see why its not safe, but i have it enabled on few of my pc’s works better than using VNC or other remote connect softwares out in the market.
Thanks for a great tutorial. Is it safe to allow remote access, is there any risk that other users can access your machine or am I being paranoid?
